This past week I attended a seminar by Bernadette Smith of 14 Stories about how to provide vendor services for gay weddings which we hope will become legal in D.C. very soon. The first legal hurdle in this fight was passed the day of the seminar. Hopefully this legislation will go through and gay marriages will begin to be performed in the District in 2010.
Many thanks to Bernadette for a very interesting and informative presentation.

The Gonzales Family - November 28, 2009
Last night I took some family portraits in my studio for the Gonzales family. They are good friends of ours and we met them through our sons. Their son, Andrew, is the singer in the band, Tunnel. My son, Jake, plays guitar in the band. At the end of our session they graciously invited Jake to join in for a few photos as he feels like family with Andrew and his beautiful sister, Sam.

Amy and Jason - November 28, 2009
Today is I did the post-wedding portrait shoot of Amy and Jason, a couple whose wedding I photographed last April. We had tried to take these portraits before the wedding but we got rained out. As they live in Atlanta, we do not have many opportunities to get together. Twice since the wedding we have scheduled shoots only to have them rained out again! Thankfully, they are here for the holiday weekend and today was cold but very sunny and beautiful. We met at Glen Echo Park and took these images while we wandered around for an hour. So aside from many other things, I know that this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for finally getting a sunny day!

Charalambpoulos Family - November 4 & 22, 2009
Today I finished the second of two shoots with the Charalambpoulos family. We did our first pictures a couple of weeks ago in Alexandria and finished today in my backyard and my studio. Such a beautiful family and so much fun to work with. We had to end our first sitting when their two year old fell asleep before we could take all the images we wanted. Today we ended the shoot with their four month old baby asleep on the backdrop.
Many thanks also to the grandmother of these lovely girls who was such a huge help both times, and even managed to sneak in a few photos with her family.
