I feel like I have not been blogging much about work these days. Most of my jobs this summer have been corporate ones, and they don't seem as interesting to blog about as weddings. Jenny Lehman and I shot a lovely small wedding a couple of weeks ago that I would have loved to blog about but the bride requested that we not do so due to her job.
So.... I blog about our life. This consists mainly of hanging with my good friend and fellow photographer, Randy, and his lovely wife, Susan and daughter, Lily. Last weekend we got a visit from my dear friend Ezra who has moved to the west coast after many years in New York City. We don't get to see him as much as we like, so I was thrilled that he made time for a visit when he was on the east coast last week for business.
As always, we did a little cooking, a little drinking, but mostly sat around and caught up.

Vamose Gold Bus Launch - June 24, 2010
Last week I photographed the launch party for the Vamoose Gold Bus. I am sure that many of you have taken the bus from Bethesda/Arlington/DC to New York. It is a great alternative to the train at a fraction of the cost. Now you can pay just a few dollars more and get a bus with cushy, plush lather seats, WiFi and electrical outlets for computers and other devices.
The launch had a marching band playing and was located in front of the beautiful Round House Theater. I am very much looking forward to our next trip to NYC and I think that I know just how we will get there.

Last Sunday Jake and his band, Tunnel, played at the Battle of the Bands at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. They won 2nd place in the elementary school division. Big shout out to Jake on guitar, Jared on Guitar, Colin on Bass, Evan on keyboards, Sam on Drums and Andrew on vocals. They sang their version of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and "Back Against the Wall" by Cage the Elephant. Rock on!!

Longview Gallery - June 3, 2010
Kait Whitehead, Randy Wood and I recently photographed the opening reception for the Anna Davis show at the Longview Gallery in D.C. This space is both a beautiful gallery and a very hot new event space in the city. It is such a unique building filled with lots of natural light, I very much look forward to working here again.
