Yesterday I decided to take my family portrait clients to McCrillis Gardens in Bethesda for their sitting. I had first been to this lovely spot about five years ago when I shot a wedding ceremony here. I have come back a few time for other portraits and always had the place to myself. Not yesterday. I guess the word is out because there were a couple of bridal parties there plus numerous portrait shoots and one maternity session. Fortunately there is plenty of room to work and we all had plenty of space for our respective jobs.
My clients were so much fun. Four great kids and two very easy going parents. We did as many configurations as we could of everyone. After a summer of beastly hot weather there is nothing sweeter than a beautiful fall day for some picture taking!

Mojie and Saeed - Woodend Wedding - August 19, 2012
Mojie hired me less than a week before her wedding. I love last minute jobs and I absolutely love to work at Woodend. We spoke on the phone a couple of times but did not meet until the day of the wedding. Both she and Saeed were such a pleasure to photograph. Easy going, charming, and so so photogenic. There is nothing better than subjects who enjoy taking photos. Mojie has a new salon in Bethesda, Le Ciel Salon and Spa. She did her own hair and make up and did a great job!
On the day of the wedding the rain began in full force with torrential showers. I was afraid that we would not be able to go outside at all, and Woodend has the most gorgeous grounds. Luckily, the skies cleared about an hour before the guests arrived and we were able to use the outdoors for cocktails and some portraits.
All my best to Mojie and Saeed.

Social Scene Events Luncheon - August 23, 2012
One of my all time favorite people (and event planner), Sara Franklin of Social Scene Events, hosted a luncheon today at her very lovely and newly renovated home in Arlington. The guests were fellow event planners. The food was catered by Alice and Louise Caterers and the wonderful pies for dessert came from Livin' the Pie Life. Great group of ladies and excellent food. Thanks so much to Sara for putting this together.
