Lisa and Russell came to me through Lisa and Seth whose son's bat mitzvah I photographed a couple of years ago. Lisa and Russell both work with Seth who shared my name with them when they became engaged. For this connection I am so thankful as this was such a great wedding and they are such lovely folks.
We started the day off at their home for formal portraits. Then everything moved to Buck's Fishing and Camping, a restaurant in D.C. Buck's was the perfect location for this 50-person wedding. It was somehow casual and elegant and so very fun. Guests arrived about an hour before the ceremony for an informal cocktail hour. Then everyone turned their attention to the front of the room where they were married in a civil ceremony performed by Carol Clayton, who is also a professional photographer. After the ceremony it was more cocktails followed by lunch and then dancing. And what dancing there was! Lisa (as Russell mentioned in his charming toast) is either a attorney/belly dancer or a belly dancer/attorney. Either way she has some serious moves on the dance floor. Lisa and Russell also had one of the loveliest most graceful first dances I have ever photographed.
