Last night, Kaitey Whitehead and I photographed the wedding of Kathy and James. This wedding came to us through one of my most favorite planners, Amy Barone. Back in the day, a big chunk of the work I did came from Amy. Now she has left the business and only does a few events for friends and some favorite old clients. On many levels I miss having her in the business, and last night it was such a treat to be working with her again.
The bride and groom are family friends of Amy and her parents. A lovely couple who has been together for twenty plus years. Now after so many years together they finally married. Kathy's sister, Sally, held the wedding and reception at their home in Great Falls. There were just twenty guests, all family and close friends. What a great event, so much love and good will to and from everyone.
Alison De Wit did a spectacular job with the flowers and Susan Gage provided the catering.
The groom joins the band and sings to his bride. Lots of people grab the mike and sing at weddings, but this guy could really sing.
John, the bride's nephew (and godson), also sang a song to Kathy. He was great too!
Then came to toasts. Not a dry eye in the house, including Kaitey and me.
After dinner Kathy and James had a quick dance and then went off into the night in this vintage 1941 Cadillac.
Absolute PERFECTION!!! You flawlessly captured the true essence of our "once-only" event. Thank you forever.....kathy & james
