Michal and Kevin - September 18, 2009

Kait and I got to spend this morning photographing Michal and Kevin's wedding at a private residence in Darnestown, Maryland. How much fun to have a Friday morning wedding! The bride, Michal, is the daughter of the principal at my sons's elementary school. The wedding was small and intimate, the only guests being the immediate family of the bride and groom.

There was a red barn on the property that made the perfect prop for portraits. Michal and Kevin were great sports about being dragged through the woods for pictures there. The weather threatened to rain but ended up being perfect. Best of luck to Michal and Kevin as they return to their home in Arkansas to start married life.

Lindsay and Adam - September 6, 2009

Kait Whitehead and I spent the last Sunday with Lindsay and Adam. We met Lindsay a few years ago when she worked at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA. She worked in catering there and we did several events together. When she became engaged well over a year ago I told her that we really wanted to shoot her wedding. Luckily, she selected me and Kait to do so, and the event took place at the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn, VA on a perfect Sunday afternoon. Haider Chowdhury, who is new to the catering department at Belmont, was such a huge help all day and so lovely to work with.

Lindsay and Adam were great subjects. Besides looking fabulous, they were game for anything Kait and I suggested. With acres of rolling fields and picket fences to sit on we tried all kinds of poses and I think they had as much fun as we did taking the photos.

The reception rocked. The band, Right Foot Red, was incredible and the dance floor was packed the whole night. Lots of guest participation in many of the songs and a dancing grandmother who almost stole the show!
