Davis gets his Black Belt - 4/24/10

Yesterday I had the best time photographing the Black Belt graduation ceremony of Davis, the coolest nine year old around. He has so much heart and soul and it has been a pleasure watching him come up the ranks at the D.C. Martial Arts Academy. My son is also a student at this school so I get to see David a lot. Many thanks also to his parents for the fabulous party at their home after the ceremony.

Mr. Smith - Part Two - April 16, 2010

Yesterday, I finished the portrait shoot that I had started in my studio last month. This time I brought Kaitey Whitehead with me to shoot. We went into Bethesda and Friendship Heights looking for color, color and color. I walk these streets all the time but yesterday we found all kinds of bright and reflective surfaces that I never noticed before.

Fluffy Thoughts Cakes - Grand Opening - April 15, 2010

On Thursday of this week I photographed the grand opening of Fluffy Thoughts Cakes in McLean. I had heard about Lara Stuckey and her incredible baked goods before, but this was the first time we had met. She has just moved into this beautiful space with a retail counter and tasting room, and tonight the ribbon was officially cut for this business. The event was planned by Terri Eaves of Bash and Jamie Sears of Simply Chic Events. I will not tell how many incredibly delicious little cupcakes I ate before the event started during set up, and I am trusting Terri and Jamie to keep my secret.
