Cherry Blossom Opening Festival - National Building Museum - March 27, 2010

Today I went to the Building Museum to photograph my son Jake's band, Tunnel, play at the opening ceremony for the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. Tunnel rocked, as always. I stayed for the whole afternoon, long after Tunnel had finished, as a client had asked me to photograph the rest of the event for them. I will post more pictures of the many other wonderful acts, after we return from vacation.

Julia's Bat Mitzvah - March 20, 2010

Yesterday was the first day of spring, and an absolutely beautiful day in Washington. Julia was so lucky to have this perfect day for her bat mitzvah. We started the day at Temple Emanuel in Kensington and gathered again in the evening in D.C. at Bambule Restaurant for the party. DJ Russell from DJ - NYX and their fabulous dancers kept everyone on the dance floor for the entire party. Big congrats to Julia and her lovely family. Many thanks also to Kait Whitehead and Rena Schild for helping me photograph this great event.

Design Cuisine Event - March 10, 2010

This past Wednesday, Kait Whitehead and I got to spend a very lovely evening with Sarah Tigner and the folks at Design Cuisine where they hosted a dinner at their Arlington headquarters. They turned their offices into a club complete with beautiful lighting by Frost Lighting and gorgeous flowers by Jack Lucky. We sipped cocktails in the front part of the office/club and then walked through a black draped hallway to the kitchen where we sat at one of three stations, "breakfast", "lunch" and "dinner". Each station served about ten courses and when everyone finished, they moved on to another station so that everyone got to sample everything. I must confess that due to a very early job yesterday, I left after my first course (dinner) but that alone, was plenty to eat, and a great example of how wonderful their food is. Kait and I photographed all the food before dinner, so that which we did not eat, we did at least get to see.

Thanks so much to Sarah and her team for the invite. I do hope to see you all soon.
