Amy and Jason's Wedding - 4-25-09

I had the great privilege of photographing Amy and Jason's wedding at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel this past Saturday. I had my incredible team of Kait and Randy both with me for this event. We started at the Willard for portraits and then moved to the Lincoln Memorial for group shots. We did not realize that we were going to experience our first 90 degree day of the season. Amy and Jason and their whole wedding party were such good sports to endure the blazing mid day heat to get some key shots. After the Lincoln we went back to the hotel where, thankfully, we had time to cool down and freshen up before the ceremony and reception.

The ballroom looked incredible thanks to the beautiful flowers from Alison De Wit of Distinctive Floral Designs. The party went late and incredible band, Free Spirit, kept eveyone on the dance floor from the moment they started playing.

The vendors for this event were:

ceremony and reception - Willard Intercontinental Hotel, Washington, D.C.
florist - Distincitve Floral Design
video - Suburban Video
photography - Susan Hornyak Photography
make-up - Nancy from Kindle and Broom Salon

Andrea and Kara - April 3, 2009

One of the nicest things about being a wedding photographer is sharing such an important day in the lives of our clients. I often hate to think that I will never see the couple once the wedding is over. Today I got to see one of our nicest clients, Andrea Dinker, who came by to do some album design and brought along her almost-one-year-old daughter. I offer free baby portraits to all my clients and I still have not officially done this for Andrea and Rob. I did, however, take the opportunity to use Andrea and Tara and models today as we live in Kenwood in Bethesda. Our neighborhood is almost as famous for its cherry trees as the Tidal Basin. In between rain showers I took a few shots in the trees in our front yard.
