Adele and Molly - April 28, 2011

Today my friend, Adele, came by with her beautiful baby, Molly, for some photos. I met Adele when I photographed her wedding almost four years ago. Molly is already four weeks old and I wanted to make sure to get some infant photos as they change so quickly at this age. Big congrats to Adele, Blake and big brother, Riley. I'm looking forward to that cocktail that Adele and I have been waiting for now that Molly has arrived!

Sea Island, GA - April 2011

We just returned from a lovely trip to Sea Island. We have gone there for the past few years and every trip while somewhat the same is always new and different. I must say that I never get more exercise that on these vacations. We play all day and then wine and dine all night. Poor Jakey, with his broken arm, was rather limited in his activities. I learned to appreciate his laptop like never before. So did he. Naturally, now that we are home, the cast comes off tomorrow.

I look forward to returning next year. The Georgia climate in the late spring is exquisite. The heat and humidity have not yet arrived and everything about the place is so inviting with lots of that mysterious Spanish moss, lush plants and perfect evening light.

I would so love to shoot a wedding there. There are about a million places I would love to pose people. Until I get that hire Joe and Jake are forced to be my models.

Dinner at the Brauns - April 9, 2011

Last night we went to our good friends, the Brauns, for dinner. We met Kathleen and Kevin when our sons went to school together at the Harbor School. Last year at the school auction they had bid on and won a dinner at their home catered by Wickey. I have worked a few weddings with this company out of York, PA. What an elegant and delicious dinner they made for us and a few lucky friends last night.

Naturally I had to bring my camera and the video light that I cannot stop playing with. Thanks to everyone for putting up with my non stop shooting. Most of all, many thanks to the Brauns for including us in this great evening.

South Florida - March/April, 2011

Quick trip to South Florida this weekend to visit family was just what the doctor ordered. I am a cold weather loving gal, and a fan of all winter sports, but skiing did not seem to fit into my schedule this year and the cold DC weather was getting a bit dreary. My husband, Joe's, brother and his family live in West Palm which made for a perfect get-away and excuse to see my yummy niece Gia. My boy, Jake, recently broke his arm playing football and he also really deserved a get away to ease the pain of missing most of the football season. The third brother Hornyak, Paul, was also down visiting so we had a fabulous time wining and dining and lounging by the pool. I did fit in a daily run, but that was about the only slightly active thing I did the whole weekend.

I did bring my camera gear as I have a couple of new lenses I wanted to play with and a new video light that worked so well with that exquisite deep blue Florida sky. Big thanks to John and Barb's neighbors, Leo and Tracy, for having us over for dinner last night and letting me turn my cameras loose on them.

Florida will be too warm for me soon, but I am booking my trip for next winter when it is so lovely down there. Plus, I have to go see Gia again before she grows up on me.
