Memorial Weekend Dinner - May 30, 2011

Wedding season starts late for me this year. Next weekend will begin the first of many and I am basically gone for the summer. My Friday nights turn into quiet nights spent re-charging batteries and checking equipment. My Sundays are spent editing all the work that I shot the day before. So - how fortunate that I got to spend my last free weekend with our friends Angela and Rob and her fabulous brother and his wife. We dined on the porch and played with our tiny dog, Sammy. Then I gathered the gang including my son, their son and another friend spending the night and marched everyone up to my studio for a few pics.

I am very much looking forward to the busy season ahead, but what a great evening before all that works starts.

Angela's Farewell Lunch - May 20, 2011

My dear friend, Angela, is leaving DC for Boston very soon, and today the awesome Dawn threw a lunch for her. We cannot really call it a farewell lunch because we all plan on visiting her at her new home constantly. I also know that we will get her to come back to DC to visit as much as possible. So I won't say, goodbye, just see you in a few......

The Demarees - May 14, 2011

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking portraits of Lizzy, Tim and Cat Demaree. They are the three children of our neighbors across the street. When we moved into our house they were young kids. Now they are all grown up and gorgeous and amazing and have become good friends of ours. This portrait shoot was a gift from them to their mother. Luckily we got to include their tiny dog, Emilio, who is my tiny dog, Sammy's, best friend. How lucky also that they have a huge purple dinosaur in the front yard to use as a prop. Clearly not something I get to use on all my portrait sittings.
