Amy and Robby - June 25, 2011

June has been such a good month to me. All of my clients have been lovely and each job a pleasure to have. Last night was so in keeping with this great trend. Amy and Robby booked me over a year ago and I have been looking forward to their wedding since the day they went with me. They are so kind and gracious and, not to mention, fabulous models!! It only helped that yesterday was one of the most perfect days of the summer that I could ever imagine. Temps in the mid-80s and not an ounce of humidity, which for a D.C. summer is a true treat.

So nice to have my dear friend, Randy Wood, second shooting for me. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Music Center at Strathmore which I love and Augie Bove and staff did their usual superb job with the catering. Lee Van Buiten of Savoir-Faire Events handled the day-of coordinating.

Best of luck to Amy and Robby who are moving to Colorado in a couple of weeks for Robby to start grad school. As a skier, I may just have to deliver the images to them in person next winter when the snow comes back.

Other vendors were:

Team Molly - June 24, 2011

My dear little friend, Molly, is having very important surgery today. Her family has become one of my favorite portraits clients and I adore them all. When Molly was born last fall, they discovered their beautiful and alert baby girl was, to her parents' complete surprise, born deaf. Today she'll turn in her hearing aids and undergo surgery to have the
internal part of "bionic ears" (cochlear implants (CIs)) placed under
her scalp. A couple weeks later she'll get her new "ears", the
external parts of her bionic ears. These CIs will send sounds to her
brain, and with lots of hours of therapy for several years, she'll be
able to hear as well as her hearing peers and communicate entirely by
regular speech. She'll be hearing (and out-talking) her chatty older
brother in no time thanks to this amazing technology.

Here are some photos that we took last weekend. All my love to Molly and her family.
