Cutler Family - August 21, 2011

My good friend, Ellen Cutler, from Occasions Caterers, came by last weekend to get some photos in my studio with her brother and his family as a birthday gift to their mother.  So much fun to meet everyone.  I am always amazed at the toys that kids find in my house that my 12 year old son has long discarded.  I don't even know what we call this expanding orb that Issac and Asher found, but it is a great favorite of almost every child that stops by the house.

Doug and Marcelo - August 20, 2011

Doug and Marcelo got married last night at Sequoia Restaurant in D.C. The weather was as nice as the couple. They were dashing and charming and so kind and lovely to work with. Rena Schild, my second shooter, had as good a time as I did at this job. Doug has a huge family with many nieces and nephews and they made the party such a wonderful family affair. Marcelo's family traveled from Brazil and they were equally kind and gracious.

The ceremony was performed by Reverend Betty and she did a great job making the ceremony both very personal and touching. Rena and I caught each other wiping tears away during the service.

After the service there were cocktails and dinner provided by Sequoia where both the ceremony and reception were held. Scott Moon and his crew did their usual stellar job. I love working there. It was a great party with Bob Walters from Bialek's Music providing the tunes.

All my best to Doug and Marcelo who are soon leaving to start a life in Brazil. Clearly an exciting adventure, and one on which I wish them all the best. You two have been great to work with from day one and I wish you lots of happiness in your new home.

Other vendors for the evening were:

Event Planner - Mike Wilkinson
DJ - Bob Walters From Bialek's Music
Cake - Watergate Pastry Shop
Flowers - Royce Flowers

Just before dinner we took a walk at sunset down to the water for a few more photos.

In lieu of a first dance, Doug and Marcelo danced with their mothers to "Teach Your Children"
